Bio

My name is Ron Potter.  I'm a freelance composer who creates hybrid cinematic instrumentals, makes albums and scores movies.  I've had placements on MTV, E! Channel, OWN... and have scored several short independent films.

My album Dull Unconscious Man was considered for Grammy-nomination in 2017 and can be found here on this site's store link and music link.  It's like a fusion of Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode with a flare of cinema.

You can compare my instrumental style to Trent Reznor and Paul Leonard Morgan movie stylings and I look up to composers like Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Danny Elfman and many more.  I blend orchestral sounds with industrial, rock and electronic genres.

Upon request, links to my short film work can be made available for viewing only.

My wheelhouse is in dark music and dark sounds and I also like making action/sci-fi music.  Tension.  Edgy.  Mysterious.  Space.  Reflective.  Introspective.  Anxious.  Epic.

Achievements include:

Grammy nominated first entry ballot for Album of the Year and Rock Album of the Year: Dull Unconscious Man 2016

Feature in Music Connection Magazine October 2016 for comedy album: Songs Dad Won't Let Me Sing 2014

Honorable Mention for Songwriting by Billboard World Song Contest

Placements for background music on cable TV shows like Catfish, Dr Oz, E! True Hollywood Stories, Whose Wedding Is It Anyway and more.
